A user can benefit from a tax credit if he incurs expenses for personal services provided at his main or secondary residence located in France, whether he owns it or not.

Employees must carry out family or household tasks at home, including small gardening jobs.

You can find the complete list of eligible services in the labor code (Articles D7231-1, D7233-5 and L 7231-1).

The amounts eligible for the tax benefit can be paid:

  • directly to an employee who provides the services defined above;
  • to an organization (company, association or other public or private organization) which provides personal services defined in Articles L 7231-1, D 7231-1 and D 7322-5 of the Labor Code and which has declared its activity in application of Article L.7232-1-1 of the same code to the DREETS (Regional Directorate for the Economy, Employment, Labor and Solidarity), formerly DIRECCTE. In addition, the exercise of certain personal service activities is subject to approval: childcare for children under 3 years old, assistance to the elderly or disabled;
  • to a non-profit or approved organization such as municipal social action centers or home help associations operating under an agreement with a department or social security organization.

Employees can work full-time or part-time.

For small gardening jobs, the ceiling linked to the 50% tax benefit is limited to €5,000/year.
